Tips for making stuff last longer

(Many thanks to lifehacker for this info)
1. Fresh cut flowers
To extend the life of your flowers, add one teaspoon sugar, one tablespoon bleach and two teaspoons lemon or lime juice with one quart of water and put it in the vase(this is the equivalent of the fertilizer packet that comes with your flowers.)
Tip 1 Don’t wash so often, over time washing breaks down the fibers in clothing making them easier to tear or rip. .
Tip 2 Wash in COLD water, cold water uses up less energy and many man-made fabrics such as nylon, polyester, ect. handle the cold a lot better than the heat.
Tip 3 Zip up jeans and jacket before washing them, the zippers act like tiny saws and will tear up any other clothing that is washed with them.
Tip 4 Clean and/or polish you dress shoes regularly, this prevents dirt from settling into niches in your shoes and helps prevent cracking.
3. Cheese
Wrap your cheese in parchment paper or waxed paper, this gives he cheese room to breathe and will therefore make it last longer.
4. Your test trial of Windows7
You can use the same rearm code as was used for vista to extend your trial 120 more days, just follow these steps.

  1. Click on the Start button and key in Cmd in Start Search box.
  2. Press on Ctrl-Shift-Enter to open Command Prompt with administrative credentials (equivalent to “Run as Administrator”).
  3. In the Command Prompt, type the following command and press Enter when done: slmgr -rearm or you can use sysprep /generalize
  4. Reboot the computer.
  5. Rearm again when the remaining activation grace period timer counts down to 0 days.

5. Reviving your hard drive
You can punish your crashed drive by giving it some time in the freezer, and after hooking it up to your backup drive, you can pull the information off (you have to do this BEFORE it warms up.)
